We are looking for a Director, HR, to help us support our people through our core values as we scale the business. Our ideal candidate loves to interact with people, possesses sharp analytical skills with a strong work ethic, and is ready to roll their sleeves up and make things happen.

This position is based in Denver, CO, and will be an onsite role.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

     Provide consultation to leadership on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training, and career development

     Develop and drive Corporate HR strategy and agenda that supports the business needs/priorities for respective business units (e.g., assessment, coaching, strategizing, driving change, retention, staffing, and development)

     Provide Senior Management and their team support and guidance on organization structure and assessment and ideas on how to leverage HR tools and programs to create an effective organization (e.g., Succession Planning, Performance Management, feedback, leadership development)

     Lead the execution of the Corporate performance management process, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and employee development planning

     Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

     Work closely with Legal to advise management on legal implications of HR issues as well as ensure compliance with all labor laws and government requirements

     Build a strong knowledge of the competitive landscape, understanding how innovation trends affect our business and culture, ensuring Benefits will continue to be a leader at the forefront of employee experience and inclusion

     Work with third party providers and online services to source and provide compensation and benefits survey data and metrics to the Leadership Team

     Develop, implement, and direct programs such as preboarding, onboarding, offboarding, and employee training programs

     Manage all HR systems and data entry related to Recruitment, preboarding and onboarding, and all people-related transactions (leave of absence, workers comp, terminations, etc.)

     Design and own recruitment strategies, recruitment processes and procedures, and candidate assessment practices

     Develop and implement a top-notch candidate and new hire experience

     Manage vendor and recruitment agency relationships to vet efficiency and manage and negotiate contracts

     Partner with Benefits broker to administer all benefits plans, policies, and guidelines

     Partner with the Finance team on payroll and withholding process for the Company - including the addition of new employees, deletion of terminated employees, ongoing payroll cycle processing, withholding administration, etc.

     Own all recruitment strategies, recruitment processes and procedures, and candidate assessment practices

     Skillfully and professionally conduct workplace investigations in a manner that leaves those involved feeling supported and with issues resolved

     Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, Talent Management, and Employment Law

     Act as the main point of contact for all HR and recruitment-related questions and issues

     Perform other duties as assigned

Ideal Experience:

     7 - 10 years of progressively broader HR experience including generalist, management of people, and working with senior executive teams

     Broad knowledge of and experience with a wide array of HR programs and practices, including employment law, compensation, performance management, leadership development, coaching, employee relations, change management, and organizational development and effectiveness

     Proven ability to influence, coach, and drive change with executive teams

     Prior experience in two or more of the functional areas of Office Management, Payroll, and/or Recruiting

     Understanding of Federal and CO payroll law (multi-state experience a plus)

     Demonstrated business acumen and ability to align people strategy to drive the business

     Demonstrated expertise in assessing organization trends and implementing HR solutions

     Ability to lead successful, collaborative, and high-performing teams

     Possesses effective communication; builds trust among team members, and promotes collaboration

     Track record of building competency and developing skills of others

     Professional certification or master’s degree in HR is preferred

     Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize

     Proactive attitude and the drive to take initiative

     Ability to identify problems and implement a solution, escalating when needed

     Ability to work independently while supporting each employee

     Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

     Experience in handling and maintaining a high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding sensitive information is a must

     Experience working in a pharma/biotech company preferred
